چکیده
Objective: To compare the frequency of wound infection with absorbable suture and non-absorbable after cesarean section. Study Design: A randomized controlled trial. Place Duration: Department Obstetrics Gynaecology, Nisthar Hospital, Multan from August 2021 to June 2022. Methodology: total 826 women (413 in each group) undergoing section were included. In Group-A was employed while Group-B, used. Post-operatively, all patients followed up weekly final assessment done 15 days. Results: a cases, mean age 26.47±3.42 years. Mean body mass index 25.62±1.87 kg/m2 obesity present 166 (20.1%). Of these study emergency performed 593 (71.8%). duration procedure 38.43±12.21 minutes 562 (68.0%) had below 40 minutes. Overall, noted 145 (17.6%) women, Group-A, 96 (23.2%) Group-B it 49 (11.9%) (p<0.0001). Practical Implications: Clinicians can employ sutures decrease risk post-operative Conclusion: We found yield significantly less rates when compared sutures. Closure of elective abdominal incisions with monofilament, non-absorbable suture material versus polyfilament absorbable suture material.
BACKGROUND Closure of abdominal incisions with different suture materials has been a matter of great controversy. Polypropylene and Polylactide with Polyglycolide are among the commonest suture materials used for closure of abdominal incisions. Objectives of this study were to assess optimal suture material used for closure of elective abdominal incisions and to see complications associated wit...

The objective of this study is to compare Polydioxanone (PDS) and Polypropylene (PPL) suture material for fascial closure,in midline abdominal incisions using interrupted X sutures in terms of postoperative wound complications. Patients for clinical study were selected from the surgical wards of Mc-Gann Teaching and District Hospital, SIMS from Jan 2012 to Dec 2013 with the following inclusion ...
متن کاملMechanical testing of absorbable suture anchors.
PURPOSE Absorbable suture anchors offer great advantages but are made of mechanically weak material. The weakest link in the fixation of soft tissue to bone may therefore be the anchor itself. In this study, several commercially available anchors were mechanically tested in vitro. TYPE OF STUDY Biomechanical bench study. METHODS Twelve absorbable suture anchor models were implanted into an ...
متن کاملFlexor Tenorrhaphy Using Absorbable Suture Materials
BACKGROUND Nonabsorbable sutures are favorable for repairing flexor tendons. However, absorbable sutures have performed favorably in an animal model. METHODS Two-strand sutures using the interlocking modified Kessler method with polydioxanone absorbable sutures 4-0 were used to repair completely ruptured flexor tendons in 55 fingers from 41 consecutive patients. The medical records of average...
متن کاملUrolithiasis on non-absorbable suture material: a rare case of bladder stone on polypropylene suture material.
I read the article by Mannan et al with great interest.(1) The authors have presented several interesting cases from Pakistan regarding foreign bodies in the bladder, which is a significant contribution to the literature. However, there were no cases of polypyroplene suture encrustation in bladder in the series. We would like to report a rare case from Turkey, in which a bladder stone was forme...
